Vail

This last week, I got to attend the Vail Food and Wine festival. It was an amazing experience. The food and wine festival gives industry personnel and visitors the opportunity to ski in Vail, Colorado. The festival is a celebration of all things wine and food, and it draws people from all over the world to experience the best that the industry has to offer. The festival is comprised of four events: the Rosé tasting, the Après tasting in the streets of Vail, and the Grand tasting.
Throughout the week we also got to go skiing, but that was not the highlight. Unfortunately, I have a very tall foot that is shaped like a brick. When putting on ski boots, they feel fine. Over time, half of my foot goes numb and it feels like I am balancing on a single line on my foot. This makes skiing very hard.
On the bright side, I got to attend the tastings at the food and wine festival. The highlight of my trip was getting to taste wine with my dad, who is a winemaker. We were able to sample a wide variety of wines from different regions and producers, and it was fascinating to hear my dad’s perspective on each one. He was able to identify the different flavors and aromas in the wine, and describe the wine better than I could. It was so much fun to be able to discuss the wine as opposed to tasting on your own.
Aside from the wine, the festival also had a fantastic selection of food. There were dozens of booths set up throughout the event, each offering a different cuisine or dish. We were able to try everything from braised short-rib tostadas to sake-braised pork belly with ramen noodles to gourmet charcuterie plates. The quality of the food was exceptional, and it was clear that each vendor had put a lot of thought and effort into their offerings.
The festival also had a great atmosphere. It was clear that everyone was there to have a good time and enjoy themselves.
Overall, attending the Vail Food and Wine festival was an unforgettable experience. It was a great opportunity to learn more about wine and food, and to spend quality time with my dad. I would highly recommend the festival to anyone who is interested in these industries, or who simply wants to have a fun and unique experience.
