The Experiential Gift
This type of gift is about a shared moment. It could range from going to a store on a shopping trip together or going to the symphony.
The Thought Provoking Gift
This type of gift derives its value from the memory you are sharing with the gift recipient. Whether it is a wine that you tried and thought of the gift recipient or a sweater you saw and thought they would like; it is all about the intention behind the gift. This gift is best accompanied by an anecdote explaining the experience that spawned the gift idea. It can be thought of as an experiential gift where one of the parties was absent.
The Funded Future Gift
Material items have a fundamental flaw. They have mass and take up space. This type of gift solves both of these problems. With a Funded Future Gift (FFG), simply chose a gift from the Traditional Gift Section and inform the gift recipient that they are receiving the gift at a later date. Then simply arrange for shipping to the gift recipient’s location. If you feel a physical gift is needed, consider a physical representation or totem of the item.
The Gift Card Gift
Sometimes it is easiest to leave the decision for what gift to buy to the gift recipient. Here gift cards are perfect. The best gift cards for me are Amazon & Costco.
